existential identity crisis

art print €25

Title: Existential Identity Crisis, 2013
 fine art print
Size: 21 x 29.7 cm / 8.3" x 11.7"

What was once a neat little girl called Alice, has now divided into three neat little girls. To make matters worse, these neat little girls all have rabbit heads!

Now, what has her identity become? Is she Alice, is she the white rabbit, or is she both?

It's clear that the figure in this piece (based, of course, on the famous character of Alice in Wonderland) has tried to reinvent themselves. But somewhere along the way she lost direction and now she just doesn't know where to find it any more.

It's confusing to say the least! But hey, so is Wonderland. And the piece does look amazing when framed and hung.

Existential Identity Crisis was exhibited at the Kilkenny Arts Festival in Ireland (2013). It's part of a series in which I explore the portrayal of women in classical stories.

I work in close collaboration with one printing facility here in Munich. Our goal is to produce high quality art prints which you can enjoy for many years to come.

I currently only print in very small batches. This piece is part of an open edition of just ten prints, each of them signed and numbered on the back.

Your order will be posted in secure packaging shortly after payment has cleared. In the rare event that your package doesn't arrive, let me know and I'll contact the postal services for you.
