Princes Ain't All That was exhibited at the Kilkenny Arts Festival in Ireland (2013). It's part of a series in which I explore the representation of women in fairy tales.
This is one of my favorite pieces in the series. It manages to be whimsical, yet powerful. Simple, yet multi-layered.
The blue-haired princess seems to have had enough of magic frogs, poisoned apples, princes and vicious family members. She simply won't take it any longer.
This is an original artwork, signed and dated on the back. I use Stockmar watercolors, which cause no harm to the environment. Stockmar paints are made with high quality light-resistant pigments and bound with natural gum arabic. The paper is acid free, age resistant and will be lightfast for years to come.
Please note that the price shown (€150) doesn't include the mounting board and picture frame. If you'd like to buy this piece framed and ready to hang, please just add €25 to the purchase price (total: €175) and add a note to your order.
